INTUTION PROCESS (Prajna Yoga)

The Intuition Process for Children: Awakening the Sixth Sense Through Yoga and Meditation

Every child is born with extraordinary natural intelligence. Not just the analytical intelligence that schools measure — but a deeper, more holistic intelligence that perceives patterns, possibilities, and solutions that purely linear thinking cannot access. Ayurveda calls this Prajna — direct knowing. The world calls it intuition.

In the modern Indian educational environment, this natural intelligence is almost never developed. Children spend 10–12 hours a day in structured, left-brain, analytical learning. The inner faculties — awareness, perception, emotional intelligence, and the capacity for direct knowing — are left entirely undeveloped. The result is a generation of children who are academically pressured but often surprisingly disconnected from their own inner resources.

The Intuition Process — taught by Sunil Kanwarjani at Actvebody through the Art of Living Foundation’s youth wellness programmes — is designed to change this.

What is the Intuition Process?

The Intuition Process (Prajna Yoga) is a structured set of practices developed within the Art of Living Foundation specifically to awaken and develop the child’s natural intuitive intelligence. It combines age-appropriate yoga, pranayama, guided meditation, and specific exercises that activate the non-analytical faculties of the mind.

The programme is rooted in ancient yogic understanding that the human mind has multiple modes of knowing — and that the intuitive mode, once developed, significantly enhances the analytical mode rather than competing with it. Children who complete the Intuition Process consistently show improvements in academic performance, focus, memory, and creative problem-solving — not because they have been taught more information, but because their mind is functioning more completely.

This is not a metaphysical claim. It is a practical, observable outcome that Sunil Kanwarjani has witnessed across hundreds of children who have gone through the programme over 8 years of facilitation in Mumbai.

What the programme develops

Intuitive intelligence. Through specific meditation and awareness practices, children learn to access the knowing that arises from within — rather than only from analysis and memory. This produces faster, more accurate decision-making, better creative thinking, and a deeper sense of inner confidence that does not depend on external validation.

Focus and sustained attention. The pranayama and meditation practices directly train the prefrontal cortex — the brain region governing sustained attention. Research on the Art of Living’s youth programmes has found measurable improvements in cognitive abilities and reductions in ADHD-type symptoms in children who complete the programme.

Emotional regulation. Children are taught to observe their emotional states from a place of inner stability rather than being swept away by them. This skill — among the most important a child can develop — produces the reductions in emotional outbursts, anxiety, and stress reactivity that parents consistently report.

Confidence and self-knowledge. The Intuition Process gives children direct experience of their own inner depth — a sense of self that is not defined by grades, appearance, or peer approval. This is the foundation of genuine confidence, as distinct from the performance-based confidence that collapses under pressure.

Sensory enhancement. Through specific awareness exercises — including blindfold activities that train non-visual perception — children develop heightened sensitivity to their environment and an expanded capacity to perceive and process information.

Programme format and age groups

The programme is available for two age groups, each with fully age-appropriate content:

  • Children (ages 6–12) — playful, movement-based sessions that make yoga, pranayama, and meditation genuinely enjoyable. Children leave feeling calm, centred, and proud of themselves.
  • Teenagers (ages 13–18) — deeper, more reflective sessions that address the specific challenges of adolescence: exam pressure, identity formation, peer dynamics, and the search for meaning. Includes Sudarshan Kriya — the powerful breathing technique that research has shown reduces stress, anxiety, and depression significantly in adolescents.

Sessions are available in these formats at Actvebody, Borivali West:

  • Individual one-on-one sessions with Sunil Kanwarjani
  • Small group sessions (4–8 children)
  • School and community workshops across Mumbai

Complementary approaches

The Intuition Process works most powerfully in combination with the other therapeutic approaches available at Actvebody. For children with specific challenges, Sunil Kanwarjani often recommends:

  • Bach Flower Remedies — for specific emotional patterns underlying attention difficulties, anxiety, or low confidence
  • EFT Tapping — for specific phobias, exam anxiety, or emotional blocks
  • Craniosacral Therapy — for children with nervous system dysregulation or birth-related tension patterns
  • Ayurvedic immunity support — Chyawanprash, Ojasvita, and Ashwagandha in appropriate doses, to ensure the physical foundation supports the mental development work

A Nadi Pariksha assessment with Dr. Santosh Kadam provides the constitutional foundation for understanding your child’s specific needs and the most appropriate combination of support.

What parents consistently observe

After 8 years of facilitating these programmes in Mumbai, the changes Sunil Kanwarjani observes most consistently in children include:

  • Measurable improvements in academic focus and test performance
  • Reduced frequency and intensity of emotional outbursts
  • Deeper, more restful sleep
  • Greater confidence in social and academic settings
  • A calmer, more grounded presence at home that parents describe as the child “growing up” within weeks
  • Children who can name, understand, and regulate their own emotions
