Bach Flower Remedies for Fear and Anxiety: Matching the Remedy to the Worry

"Anxiety" covers a lot of ground. One person fears a specific thing. Another feels vague dread with no cause. A third worries constantly about everyone around them. Bach Flower Remedies are built around that difference, because Dr. Bach separated fear into distinct types, each with its own remedy.

Fear Is Not One Thing

  • Mimulus is traditionally used for fear of known things, such as public speaking, illness, heights or being alone
  • Aspen is for vague, unexplained apprehension, a sense that something bad is about to happen
  • Red Chestnut is for excessive worry about the welfare of loved ones
  • Rock Rose is for sudden terror or panic
  • Cherry Plum is for fear of losing control

These are traditional uses, not a prescription. The right blend depends on the person, which is why we build it in a consultation.

What a Consultation Involves

It is mostly conversation. I listen for the pattern, which is often different from the one a person walks in with, and prepare a personal blend to be taken as drops in water. There is no taste or sedation, and nothing that dulls alertness. See also how this works for younger clients in our guide to Bach Flower Remedies for children.

Combining It with Other Support

An Honest Note on Limits

Bach Flower Remedies are a gentle complementary support. They are not a treatment for anxiety disorders or panic disorder. If anxiety is intense, constant, or interfering with work, sleep or daily life, please speak with a doctor or mental health professional. Flower remedies can sit alongside that care, never in place of it.

A Note from Actvebody

A Nadi Pariksha assessment can add a constitutional view of why anxiety shows up the way it does for you.
